We spent about 10 days in Costa Rica over New Year's 2023–2024, based on the Pacific coast and doing day trips into the rainforest interior. We did river tours, saw more wildlife than I expected, and got into the jungle enough to appreciate how different the light is in there.
We were based on the Pacific coast for most of the trip, which meant we did a lot of day trips into the interior and came back to the ocean each evening. After days of rainforest and river tours, it was nice to have a place to decompress. We spent a fair amount of time just sitting on the beach (or in the pool) watching the sunset. This shot is from our last evening — we did a snorkel and sunset cruise on what was supposed to be our final day, then our flight got canceled and we got a bonus night. Not the worst problem to have.
